Hernando County, Florida Relocation Information and Guide

I recall when I first happened upon Hernando County , Florida. I drove past it and didn't even notice that I had done so. Many years later, now, I can look back upon that moment in my life and experience a brief moment of regret at the opportunity lost. I suppose that is the way of things though, sometimes you just can't see the beauty of the tree because of the beauty of the forrest.

That's how I look at where I live, Hernando County, Florida. Its a beautiful forest filled with even more beautiful trees. The area is called "home" to those lucky individuals from all over the world, who happened to seize that moment and stop their lives long enough to notice the trees as they drove through the forest. I am very glad to say that I eventually became one of those people.

Hernando County is located in West Central Florida an hour or so west of Orlando, the same from Tampa to the south. The Suncoast Parkway allows for a trouble free commute to downtown Tampa. SR 50 connects you directly to the fun capital of the world, Orlando. Hernando Counties convenient access to these metropolitan areas make it the perfect place to raise a family. You'll find yourself embraced by the relaxed, down home atmosphere of the area.

The same commute that allows you to work in the areas where you can be most productive, also allows for many entertainment options. On those precious weekends that we spend with our families, Disney World, Sea World, Epcot Center, Busch Gardens, and all the other major attractions that bring people from around the world to Florida, are within an easy relaxing drive.

The County seat of Brooksville is a wonderful example of old style Florida. It manages to maintain this charm while embracing the technology revolution. Other communities in Hernando County include Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, and Ridge Manor.

If you prefer a more relaxed and intimate time with your family, Hernando County can provide that also. Canoeing down the Weeki Wachee or Withalacochee rivers, exploring the Withalacochee State Forest, fishing the Gulf of Mexico, or simply watching the sunset from the Bayport pier are all activities that Hernando County offers its residents and guests. Small boat rentals are available both powered and paddled, fishing charters and dive charters are also available.

Hernando County, "One of the Top Business Locations in the South " according to Southern Business and Development Magazine, is also "The Leading Growth County in the Nation", according to American Demographics Magazine.

The Hernando County Airport , located next to the Hernando County Industrial Park, provides access for those who lead a more traveled type of life. The Airport Industrial Park is a 155 acre industrial park located in Brooksville- Spring Hill area of Hernando County. Adjacent to the Suncoast Parkway, the Airport Industrial Park offers a convenient and cost effective location just minutes North of Tampa Bay. The Industrial Park is owned and operated by Hernando County Government. Also the RailPark that is located on the Southeastern edge of the airport offers "Rail-Side" lots with access to track side unloading.

The Hernando County Airport is uniquely situated in Florida, 45 miles north of Tampa.
